How can I assign rights to a sub-user?

After you have added a sub-user account (if you have troubles to do so, please follow the steps in this article), you can assign rights to this sub-user. Select a user right to apply it to the created sub-user. The table below explains the meaning of the different rights.

 

User rights

Meaning

Demo user

 

If you assign the 'Demo user' type to the sub-user account, it will get a special set of predefined rights. It is not possible to further edit the user rights for a subuser you set to be a demo user.

General

Change I/O settings

Many camera's support input/output (I/O). This means that, whenever an alarm is triggered, an external command can be sent to some other device or alarm central.

 

Change the PZT position of a camera

The sub-user is able to use the pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) function of a camera, if supported. This means he can 'steer' the camera and move it in any direction.

 

Listen to audio of a camera

If supported, a sub-user can listen to a camera’s audio stream.

 

Can record locally

This feature is not being used at the moment.

Footage

View footage

The sub-user can play recordings.

 

Delete footage

The sub-user can delete recordings.

 

Lock footage

The sub-user can lock recordings.

 

Export footage

The sub-user can export recordings from the application to a computer.

 

Edge storage management

The sub-user can change the storage location.

Cameras

Add a camera

The sub-user can add a camera to the account.

 

Edit a camera

The sub-user can change settings of an added camera.

 

Remove a camera

The sub-user can remove cameras from the account.

Sequences

Add a sequence

The sub-user can create a sequence.

 

Edit a sequence

The sub-user can change the settings of a sequence.

 

Remove a sequence

The sub-user can delete a sequence.

Locations

Add a location

The sub-user can create a location.

 

Edit a location

The sub-user can change the settings of a location and can add cameras to a location.

 

Remove a location

The sub-user can delete a location.

Cameragroups

Add a cameragroup

The sub-user can create a group.

 

Edit a cameragroup

The sub-user can change the settings of a group and add cameras to a group.

 

Remove a cameragroup

The sub-user can delete a group.

Scheduling & Triggers

Edit schedule

The sub-user can edit schedules of every camera.

 

Edit motion detection settings

The sub-user can change detection settings of every camera.

 

Enable audio and PIR detection

The sub-user can can switch the audio and PIR detection on and off.

 

Receive camera MD alerts

The sub-user can receive alerts when motion is detected.

User management

Add user

The sub-user can add a user.

 

Edit user

The sub-user can change the settings and right of a user.

 

Delete user

The sub-user can delete a user.

 

Block and unblock users

The sub-user can block and unblock a user.

 

View sub-user settings

The sub-user can view the user settings of other sub-users.

 

Ftp settings

If supported, the sub-user can edit the Ftp settings.

Advanced

Local exceptions

Local exceptions can be used to configure IP addresses that always have to connect via their local connection. This is a very advanced feature, which can be configured by sub-users who have this enabled.

 

Privacy button

Sub-users that have this right enabled can manage the privacy button of a camera.

 

Light

The sub-user can turn the light on the camera on and off.

Logfiles (beta)

Storage usage

The sub-user can see the storage usage of the account.

 

Logfiles

The sub-user can see the logs & statistics.
